Peelander Z
Japanese Action Comic Punk Band, was formed by Peelander-Yellow, Peelander-Blue, and Peelander-Red. These three dress up in color-coordinated costumes and are known for their human bowling, wrestling and kung-fu action, or funny dance at the punk rock shows. Peelander-Z knows how to entertain the audience by dragging them into the show.

Chin Chin
Chin Chin started as the house band for a popular monthly party in NYC. This might explain why every show the band plays becomes one giant celebration of swirling grooves and plush bass lines. As a live unit, Chin Chin can range from the standard quintet to a thunderous ten-piece ensemble. Their sound both recalls the 70s and surpasses the era in a synthesis of retro and contemporary. Unleashing their music for the first time in the US on disc, Chin Chin found a home on Definitive Jux.

Nuclear Family
(Nuk Fam for short) is a musical collective of seven kids (including groups such as Junk Science and Iller Than Theirs) from New York (mostly Brooklyn) who make hip hop music with a decidedly honest, down-to-earth approach. The music has the aesthetic of early 90's boom-bap hip hop, but Nuk Fam has no interest in being sound preservationists or genre purists. Cause fuck that. Their music and highly charged live performances often take turns towards places and ideas that are “un-hip-hop”. But by simply being themselves, Nuk Fam feels they are staying truer to the spirit of a music whose roots lie in innovation and rebelliousness.

Activator
Heavily rooted in genres ranging from New York hardcore to Swedish death death metal Activator has made it a point to make music with the same intensity and integrity as the music they were inspired by. The most recent addition to the Definitive Jux roster, their forth coming EP will be released June 08.

The Dugout
The Dugout has been pitching their brand of hip-hop up and down the east coast. Releasing both self-produced mix-tapes and original recordings created in the sanctity of their own home studio, this crew melds together street savvy intelligence with a hint of thug-braggadocio for a sound that could easily have been spawned from Brooklyn's heyday of the mid to late '90s.

DJ's Mikey Palms & Kool Kear
DJs Kool Kear and Mikey Palms have been partners for 6 years. Together they have played a wide range events inluding the 2007 Siren Music Festival and several of the Mccarren Park Pool Parties, opening up for Cursive, Man Man, Band of Horses, and others in the process. In addition to rocking their own local parties, the pair recently teamed up with Kray (of the dynamic rap duo Iller than Theirs) to start thier own East Village Radio show, entitled "Chances with Wolves".
